big milestone

my sweet baby you're sitting up!! screaming as loud as you can, just because you can!! It's quite delightful to watch. I'm so proud of you and, I know I say this every time but I thank you. its been an extra wild week in our lives with mucho changes and you've been a testament of God's grace in the storm. you're our little social butterfly that fills our days with smiles, laughter( you're laughing more, we' have to work for them though. you're not easily moved. lol!!) and lots of moments that make us blessed to be your mama and dada.

thank you for the music

there are moments and experiences in my life since I was 8 years old that have your music and voice in the back of my mind. from seeing the music video of " I wanna dance with somebody" in Zimbabwe to dancing 20lbs off to your greatest hits dance cd in 2001 in an apartment in Texas. you were my vocal trainer as a pre-teen as i I tried to hit the "Whitney " notes and my vocal benchmark later in my life when i worked harder to hit that note and freaking out until I realized you sang different too:)
your voice was like no other, and you will be deeply missed by all of us who never met you but where hugely touched by you..." and if tomorrow is judgement day, and I'm standing on the frontlines hmmm, and the Lord asks me what I did with my life. I will say I spent it with you". "Thank you for the music" Miss Whitney Houston . May your soul rest in peace And Lord may you watch over Bobbi Kristina. Amen.

happy valentines day sweetheart

four years ago today your dada asked me to be his girlfriend( we'd been "dating" for a month, but I would tell him I didn't date. I know, funny right), after a dinner he had made for me and presenting me with flowers and a massive box of yummy Belgian chocolate..( I guess I talked about my love of chocolate a lot based on its size.. Hehehe)

four years later...you're our sweet Valentine!! we love you sweetheart and really everyday is Valentines Day when we're together.

It's been one of those weeks when I can't stop thanking you for being such an awesome baby. when things get a little crazy you always seem to just go with the flow. last Saturday
and this Monday dada had to take care of some realtor business so we were going to be alone at the store all day except we had your favorite aunt Chenai drive down to the rescue. Words can't express how much we ( yes you and I) appreciate her and all she does for us. she's an absolute gift to us. the rest of the week included outside work meetings- with you calmly chilling on my lap- your four month check up, results below

in all this craziness I woke up Saturday morning with a feeling of gratitude. looking over at you and your dada I felt overwhelmed with gratitude and a joy that comes only from God. I'm grateful for the life God has blessed us with, the challenges, the wins, our family prayer time, our morning ritual of just hanging in bed laughing and playing every morning before we start the day, and sometimes adding a morning walk when weather permits:)) the things that have become routine but are what makes us, our family and keep us joyful.
so thank you Zoe for being a light in our lives and I'm looking forward to another week of unexpected blessings that God has in store for us.

four months

the past four months with you have been pure delight!! this last month you're little personality is coming out and we find ourselves watching you and then looking at each other with big grins on our faces when you do something adorable. which is a lot!!
you love jumping on your musical gym and even when you're out of it you won't stop jumping. sometimes you jump with such passion I'm afraid if I leave the room you might launch yourself across the room😝.
you love blowing spit bubbles, once you discovered it you can't seem to stop yourself and when we make air bubbles with you, you squeal in delight.. It's the best:))
it's fun watching you respond when we call your name, or on some days you won't look at us but will just smile to yourself and look the other way.. oh snap yes you did!! if you're not in the mood you have a very obvious way of letting us know- the blank stare, followed by a little smirk/smile( not sure which) and then you turn the other way. you do it to dada a lot, it just makes him laugh and try, try again.
it's nice seeing how you recognize us as your #1 peeps and smile and jump up when either one of us walks in a room. or when you hear our voices your little head does a 180 looking to see where we are..it's the best:)
I could go on all day, but I won't. last but not least I love loving you everyday and feel so blessed that I get to spend my days with you, watching you blossom. I cherish this time in our lives that I'm your favorite person( remember this when you're 14 years old) and dada is a close second:))
